Gaffa seeks proposals from emerging and established artists and curators who have good organisational skills and will require a minimum of assistance. Artists/curators are expected to be proactive and to manage their own install, mailing lists, participants (if a group show) and contributors and to organise extra equipment if required. Gaffa posts details of all events on our website and sends newsletters to our databases as our primary form of marketing.

Hire Fees:

• Gallery One: $850+gst per week
• Gallery Two: $600+gst per week
• Gallery Three: $550+gst per week
• 25% commission taken on sales
• Keeper Gallery (Subject to guest curator guidelines / please contact gallery for current info)
• Standard exhibition duration is 2 weeks

Gallery costs will include:

• 2 weeks exhibition period per show
• Marketing and promotion, including formulating and printing of hardcopy invites, and electronic mail out to our database
• Standard gallery running costs (special overhead costs may apply)
• Opening event and manning of the bar (from 6pm-8pm on the first Thursday of the show period)
• Professionally designed gallery fit-out
• Access to a selection of plinths and display cases
• Gallery is staffed 6 days a week by Gaffa staff (10am-6pm Mon-Fri, 11am-5pm Sat, closed Sun & public holidays)

Proposal checklist:

• Your contact details
• The proposed title of your exhibition
• A statement about the exhibition concept *400 words maximum
• Your preferred month
• Your preferred gallery space (1,2 or 3)
• Any special installation requirements (or queries)
• A description of how you physically plan to use the space should your proposal be successful *One A4 page maximum
• Medium of work to be exhibited (and dimensions if known)
• 2-3 images representative of the work to be exhibited *JPEGS maximum file size 300KB
• Your artist CV (Exhibition history/Courses undertaken) *One A4 page maximum

* Please note: For group exhibitions the last 3 items are required for each participating artist. In addition, one spokesperson must be allocated for administration and communications with Gaffa.
