Photos and the writings of Jens Lichtenberger (1950-2016)

“I have been a barrister during my working life and have taken photos over the years as a passion. Influenced by a number of visual artists, notably Edward Hopper, I have looked at the people and animals that are around me, and I respond to their environment. The picture of someone in a context which illuminates our and/or their life, is my focus. The idea of a person who is at a point of change, or illumination, or expressing their inner passions, I find rewarding.”

This retrospective exhibition will introduce the viewer to the unique way Jens Lichtenberger viewed the world through his lens; in turn reflecting the inner man. A book of the same title has been produced, which includes over 200 of his short stories, vignettes, haiku, andpoems. Ultimately this exhibition will co-inside with the 3rd anniversary of Jens’ untimely death (October 29th) in 2016.

Exhibition opening and book launch of Jens’ writings ‘I Kicked a Stone in Metaphor’ Saturday, October 26 from 2-4pm.

Readings from the book will take place in Gaffa Gallery on Tuesday the 29th from 12 to 2pm in commemoration of his life’s work.
