Regulated Random, is work in progress showing recent experiments with materials and concepts reflecting environmental influences.

INFORMATION

Brenton Schwab describes himself as an abstract painter, an explorer and experimenter, with his heart in nature. In the years he worked in natural areas of South East Queensland, Schwab constantly questioned how and why at the variety in nature. At the same time his art practice was developing. Using acrylic paint Schwab works fast and spontaneous and often on paper.

In 2016 Schwab moved to Sydney and enrolled in Master of Art at UNSW where he is examining concepts. His work is diverse, to the point where the diversity becomes the concept, while also reflecting the randomness and diversity he has seen in nature. His abstract work often raises questions of how and why. He often asks these same questions about environmental issues affecting society today. The duality that exists between money and nature creates a barrier to resolving these issues and raises similar questions.
