‘Vanishing, vanishing’ is a new work by Rachael Helmore which investigates the way we move through and make sense of our surroundings.

INFORMATION

Creating work in-situ and often while travelling through a landscape, rapid observational drawing forms the basis of Helmore’s practice. With this installation extending into video and performance, attention is drawn to the subtle ways in which shapes and thoughts shift over time and space. Stemming from her 2017 exhibition ‘Vanishing Points’, ‘Vanishing, vanishing’ signals the extrapolation of old ideas and a departure into new ones.

Bio:

Rachael completed her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts & Arts at UNSW/COFA, majoring in Printmaking and Anthropology. She has exhibited in Germany and Australia, and her works are part of private collections nationally and internationally. As well as continuing her art making practice she is the curator at Scratch Art Space in Marrickville.
