Acquire the basic techniques of saw piercing filing, soldering, riveting, drilling and polishing to create your own unique silver jewellery.

Beginners and intermediate (basics and beyond)

This course is suitable for both those with no prior knowledge in jewellery making, as well as those more versed. Throughout the course some advanced techniques such as roller printing, bezel setting and reticulation will be demonstrated.

Project Class

This course is fitting to students who have completed a beginner’s class and or have some prior knowledge of jewellery making. The course is set at your own pace, allowing individuals an opportunity to work on their own designs and projects under the supervision of a tutor. Advanced techniques may be demonstrated, which could include metal inlay, granulation and much more. 

Cost: $425 (some materials included)

Wax carving

Students will learn the necessary skills to shape, carve, melt and hollow objects and apply to two simple wax rings in preparation for a successful cast into silver, to then be finished and polished. Students will have the chance to walk away from the course with completed silver pieces of their own and basic skill set to repeat the process independently or attempt a more advanced wax carving class.

7 week course

Cost: $330 (does not include casting costs)

Email studios@gaffa.com.au registering your interest in attending a class, you will be sent a registration form that will need to be filled out and e-mailed back to Gaffa. The form also includes payment details. Your registration in the class will be confirmed on payment. Any missed classes are the responsibility of the student and are not refundable. Class dates may be subject to change due to lack of required numbers, class fees are also subject to change.
