In Indonesia we call the sun ‘matahari’. It gives life, it marks the passage of time and illuminates. These images are quiet moments collected in my home, on the way to and from work and on walks in unfamiliar places. They are a meditation on the passing of a day, an invitation to linger in the in-between moments.

INFORMATION

I find myself drawn repeatedly to the same ordinary things: flowers, birds, objects dropped and forgotten, plants growing, water. They represent the feelings and questions that preoccupy my thoughts. A flower, for example, can be an expression of beauty, resilience, the cycles of nature, the way humans cultivate lovely things, and the ways that we disrupt and cause harm.
